As a continent, Africa is reported to be vulnerable to the current and future effects of Climate change. Defined as the long-term change in the average weather patterns that define Earth’s local, regional and global climates, the impact of Climate change can already be felt by many on the continent. Whether it is a change in agriculture patterns thus adversely affecting access to food, or the loss of homes as many are displaced due to floods, droughts or famines, or perhaps its effects on overall sustainable development. The effects are felt now even as we anticipate further issues. Some close to us and others further removed.

For the Bold 2023 Continental Call, we invite continent-based African writers to send in submissions of creative writing (Short Story (Fiction/Non-Fiction) and Poetry) showcasing the impact of Climate change on their locales across the continent.
